根据American diabetes Association的报道,2015年,大约3千万美国人患有糖尿病,糖尿病也是美国人的第7大死因。糖尿病会引起眼、肾、心脏、血管、神经等多种组织的慢性损害、功能障碍,从而导致多种并发症,如冠心病、脑血管病、视网膜血管病,肾动脉硬化、肢体动脉硬化等疾病,甚至诱发肿瘤。

肥胖的人更容易得2型糖尿病。在美国,男性的四分之三、女性的五分之三有肥胖或超重,肥胖日益威胁着美国人的身体健康,例如 40%左右的肿瘤是由肥胖引起的。

中医认为,“圣人不治已病治未病”,预防、调理是最重要的保健,如何以中医的方法调理身体,从而预防、控制糖尿病以及肥胖、超重呢?本次讲座将着眼于以上问题,与大家进行交流。

主讲人:杨观虎博士

主讲人简介:杨观虎博士,北京中医药大学美国中医中心临床部专家 。毕业于于浙江中医学院、南京中医学院温病研究生班,师从温病大师孟澍江与沈凤阁教授。 1993年赴日留学,获日本金沢医科大学医学博士,1999年在美国辛辛那提儿童医疗中心从事博士后研究。2005-2009年担任俄亥俄州SHI针灸学校校长。现为俄亥俄大学医学院临床助理教授,任世中联糖尿病诊治标准制定组成员, Cellular &Molecular Biology等国际著名SCI杂志的特约审稿专家,《中医针灸》杂志编委,参与主编和编译了7本中医和现代医学著作,发表论文50余篇。

主讲内容:糖尿病及肥胖、超重的中医调理,杨观虎博士将通过此次健康公益讲座,解答空腹血糖受损、糖耐量异常、糖尿病并发症以及肥胖、超重的并发症等相关问题,讲解中医对这类疾病的认识,中医中药调理、针灸治疗以及家庭养生的多种方法,养生食谱,以及养生常用穴位、锻炼方法等,告诉我们在日常生活中如何通过中医养生,自我调理,以达到预防、控制糖尿病及其并发症、提高生活质量的目的,欢迎您前来参加!

Public Health Lecture

According to the American Diabetes Association, in 2015, about 30 million Americans suffered from diabetes, the seventh leading cause of death in the United States. Diabetes can cause chronic damage and dysfunction of eye, kidney, heart, blood vessel, nerve and many other tissues, thus leading to many complications, such as coronary heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, retinal vascular disease, renal arteriosclerosis, limb arteriosclerosis and other diseases, and even induce tumor.

People who are obese have a high risk of developing type 2 diabetes, which is also known as insulin-resistant or adult-onset diabetes. About three quarters of men and three fifths of women in the United States are obese or overweight. Obesity is increasingly threatening the health of Americans. For example, about 40% of tumors are caused by obesity.

According to traditional Chinese medicine, prevention and conditioning are the most important health care. How to regulate the body by traditional Chinese medicine so as to prevent and control diabetes, obesity and overweight? This lecture will focus on the above issues and communicate with you.

Speaker: Dr. Guanhu Yang

About the speaker: Dr. Guanhu Yang, expert of Clinical Department of American Center of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. He graduated from Zhejiang College of Chinese Medicine and Nanjing College of Chinese Medicine, and studied with Professor Shujiang Meng and Professor Fengge Shen. In 1993, he went to Japan to study, and obtained a doctor’s degree from Jinwa Medical University in Japan. In 1999, he worked in the Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center in the United States as a postdoctoral researcher. 2005-2009,he was the president of Ohio Shi Acupuncture School. At present, he is an assistant professor of clinical medicine of Ohio University School of Medicine, a member of the Diabetes Diagnosis and Treatment Standard Setting Group of the World Federation of China, a special reviewer of international famous SCI journals such as Cellular & Molecular Biology, and an editorial board member of Acupuncture Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He has participated in the editing and compilation of seven works of traditional Chinese medicine and modern medicine, and published more than 50 papers.

Main content: Chinese medicine conditioning of diabetes, obesity and overweight. Through this public health lecture, Dr. Yang will answer the problems related to impaired fasting blood glucose, abnormal glucose tolerance, complications of diabetes, obesity and overweight, explain the knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine on such diseases, various methods of traditional Chinese medicine conditioning, acupuncture treatment and family health preservation recipes, as well as commonly used acupoints and exercise methods for health preservation, and tell us that, how to improve the quality of life through health care and self-regulation of traditional Chinese medicine?
